I'd probably refer to the pseudomorphs as "Classic" more than the locality. But then I am on the other side of the planet 😁

I was VERY surprised to hear that this/these/all pseudomorph(s) are only skin-deep. I must be mis-understanding.

Thanks! But don't take my statement as an absolute - you can discern the cuprite on my specimens, and I've seen a fair number of photos where it was more or less evident, but many or even most of them may be (more or less) fully replaced. "Some" might have been a better word in the post than "many". I don't have enough experience with them to know, either way. I bet there are all ranges of replacement from 100% to 0%.
