Did the Kalsilite crystals form after the initial cooling and solidification of the lava? or was the cooling slow allowing the larger crystals (and texture) to form?

Great question. I infer that it is late-stage igneous, so part of the initial cooling and not later. https://www.degruyter.com/document/doi/10.2478/s13533-012-0190-z/html - is definitely beyond my petrologic pay grade, but I think that's what they say.
